The hardest part about visiting Orlando is choosing which theme park to go to first. Family holidays in the sun
If you want guaranteed sun on your family holiday, it’s best to travel to another country in Europe, also keeps the flight times short. In the south, there is a sunny island, which Irish holidaymakers love – Majorca. The Balearic island has countless hotels on offer, which are aimed for not only adults but holidays with kids as well. Add to this the amazing landscape, loads of sights, and diverse day trip destinations, and it’s the best family holiday destination! You shouldn’t miss out days at the beach on a holiday in Majorca. Alternatively, you can relax by the pool of your hotel and hand over your kids to the responsible staff.
Spain is also home to lots of different destinations that are perfect for holidays with kids as well! The other Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, and the Spanish mainland welcome you and your children with their many hotels and rental properties. Summer is the perfect time of year for a family holiday in Spain. The country is at its most beautiful at this time of the year and everyone can enjoy it in their own way.
A family holiday in Italy is a wonderful alternative to Majorca and Spain. A relatively short flight time guarantees a quick and problem-free journey from Ireland. Once you’ve arrived, you can expect incomparable cuisine, sun, sea, and sand. Many families travel to a hotel on the famous Lake Garda in the summer. Here, you can surf, hike, horse ride, or just relax by the water. Lake Garda offers you a real mix of different activities. You can also find theme parks, which guarantee fun for adults and children, in this popular region of Italy.
Another popular destination in the sun is Turkey. A family holiday in Turkey is popular everywhere because there are lots of pampering all-inclusive hotels here. The best hotels are the ones with a pool, where the kids can have fun. Adults can use the spa for moments of relaxation. In the evening, you can let yourself be entertained at shows in the hotel. The all-inclusive catering in the hotel caters to your every wish. Days on the beach are a must. Many are ideal for families because the sea is shallow and calm. Here, you can keep an eye on your kids and lie back and relax.
Now here’s my super duper secret tip 😀 Instead of going to the beautiful but crowded islands stay on the Mainland. I have recently been to Greece and stayed not even an hour away from Athens airport right at the coast. There are many beaches just along the way close to Porto Rafti, with super shallow water. Really safe for kids! Another big, big plus: There are almost only Greek tourists who are the most relaxed people in the world. Don’t overhear annoying chats and get away from some tacky tourists. The people still speak English and it’s totally catered towards family holidays. There are enough taverns and shops along the coast to not miss out on the comfortable tourist life though. In my opinion, it’s a just a bit more authentic.

This beautiful seaside town in Co. Clare is a great place to bring the whole family.
