Men’s Packing List for Travel
No matter where you go, certain elements of a man’s packing list will never change. That said, don’t forget to bring along any specialty items you’ll need while away, such as ski gear or fishing poles. Before you go, jot down everything you need to pack so you can run down the list and make sure you have everything. Don’t stress too much. In most cases, you can buy whatever it is you forgot.
When packing for a trip, bring along both daywear and nightwear. Pack T-shirts, jeans and shorts for the daytime, along with at least one dress shirt and pants, and possibly a suit jacket for a nice dinner. If you’re headed somewhere tropical, don’t worry about dressy clothes, but pack plenty of T-shirts, since you will probably wear them most of the time. Always pack at least one sweatshirt or sweater since indoor areas can be cold even during the summertime.
Undergarments and Accessories
Pack one pair of boxers or briefs for each day of your trip, along with a few pairs of socks. Bring along whatever shoes you enjoy wearing. That can range from flip-flops and sneakers to a pair of dress shoes to match the dress slacks you’re bringing along. Don’t forget a belt, and bring along a necktie just in case. If you wear cuff links, pack those in a zippered suitcase compartment. You’ll need pajamas to sleep in and a swimsuit for the beach or hotel pool.
Pack shampoo, conditioner and a bar of soap if you want; however, many hotels supply miniature bottles in guest rooms. Also remember to take along your toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash to keep your teeth clean. You’ll also need a razor, shaving cream and aftershave lotion to keep your face fresh. Pack your cologne and don’t forget your contact lens case and solution if applicable. Other necessities can include hair gel and a comb.
Remember to bring any electronics you frequently use. This can include your cell phone and laptop, along with the requisite chargers, as well as any electronic reading devices. Don’t forget a camera, extra batteries and any prescription medications or vitamins you’ll need. Bring your driver’s license, passport if leaving the country, and plane tickets if you’re flying. Take your sunglasses, eyeglasses and reading materials, such as books or magazines. Pack any other items you use on a daily basis, such as a reusable water bottle or earplugs.
